A cup of powdered sugar is 4 1/2 ounces, so to get one pound you will use 3 1/2 cups. Hope that helps those who can or do not have the boxed sugar. The lumps of powdered sugar can be removed for the most part by pressing the fudge through the tines of a fork on the side of the bowl before you add the nuts. It does not set that rapidly, so there is time to smooth any larger lumps if needed. They seem to be caused by the higher watt microwaves as the butter melts too fast. Can try lowering your power to 75% for less lumps. Either way the flavor is good, just disappointing when not perfect! This is the perfect use of a silicone pan, if you have one.

well i'm going to try this since the reviews are pretty good however are most finding it lumpy after done? we don't use the lbs wt here so how many grams wd it be offhand? thx

    • CDKitchen Staff Reply:

It won't be lumpy if you follow the instructions and mix it well. 1 pound of powdered sugar is 454 grams.

I made this once a long time ago and came back looking for the recipe. It's fast, easy and tasty! I highly recommend you give it a try. Add some peanuts and raisins and you have something similar to the old "Chunky" candy bars!

I made this today (it's very day rainy and mine was soup) I had to dump it back in a bowl add more cocoa and sugar; reheat and try again. I'm waiting now to see if we will be able to eat it without a spoon.

The old saying goes that you should never make fudge on a rainy day. Maybe try it again when you have better weather.

what size or how many cups of powdered sugar? since the major food store do not provide the 10x powdered sugar box and they provide the confectioners sugar in the plastic bags. Please fix the ingredients properly. Thank you

    • CDKitchen Staff Reply:

The box is 1 pound (we can still get the boxes here so they are still available). You should be able to get the bags in the 1-pound size as well.

This is an excellent very quick recipe. I altered the ingredients to correct the crumbly texture problem. Just add one whole stick of butter cut into about four chunks. I also roasted my pecans for the extra wow taste.War Eagle,K

I used this as an ice cream topping as suggested for a bday party with a bunch of 9 year olds. They all loved it! Of course, then we had 9 year olds on a sugar high!

It tasted very good, the only issue I has was that it was too crumbly. I added some mini marshmellows and it was good like that. Although, next time I'll leave those out- too sweet! Overall I loved it- very easy, very quick, and most people have the ingredients.

The fudge tasted really good, but it was very sticky and had a taffy-like texture, almost like a soft tootsie roll.It was very easy though, and tastes great with ice cream and strawberries! (: Thanks for posting!

We made this recipe together on a rainy day when we had nothing to do. It was very easy to make and we are kids. It tastes great!

The fudge was very tasty, though as Mary commented on I did get lumps of sugar throughout even though I did sift the powder sugar. I would recommend lining a mini cupcake pan with foil and then pour the fudge in it before you put it in the fridge to get perfect serving size bites.

Great recipe! Just one little thing to check before you start making this delicious fudge: make sure your powdered sugar is not lumpy-Run it through a sifter first, otherwise your fudge will have little white lumps running through it like mine did. Otherwise it's great! Thanks for posting!!

I'm a terrible cook but this recipe was extremely easy, quick and tasty. The fudge was rich and was ready in just about 60 minutes. The taste was a little too cocoa-y for my liking so I might recommend slightly less cocoa. Good recipe, though!
